Hello Family:
Welcome to our website, we are honored to share the good news of what God is doing with this organization in 2008! For the past few years of our existence we have watched God open doors to serve the community in large proportions, as it has brought with it a series of memories that mark change in the city of Chicago and other parts of the nation like never before. Through the partnerships we have formed with churches / organizations / and people like you we have been able to serve and host events that engage and encourage thousands of participants.
People have said that uniting the body of Christ for the purpose of outreach is an impossible mission. Realizing that nothing is impossible for God, we have stood faithful to the call of providing services to the community with a staff and churches that have a heart for people. We have invested time, energy and resources into families and the community that stem from all walks of life, as we have been successful to reach those in need.
Since we have started, God has allowed us to:
◊ Host three Christian Parades and a series of unity services in the community (4th parade scheduled in Downtown Chicago on June 21st)
◊ Provide two unity festivals to offer free services / school supplies / haircuts/ positive activities/ music and more in collaboration with over 39 nonprofit organizations / 26 churches / sponsors and support from political officials
◊ Present two Christian “Comedy for Christ” shows that provide great entertainment through clean comedy (3rd show scheduled for Friday, May 30th)
◊ Create partnership events with Moody Bible Institute and other churches to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina with over 46 ministry entertainment groups
◊ Coordinate two missions trips to feed, clothe and provide furniture / toys to over 26 families and over 300 people in Meridian, Mississippi and New Orleans
◊ Breed a new “Youth Leadership In Action” (YLIA) program that offers youth opportunities to develop a solid spiritual foundation to build leadership skills
The journey to the path that God has called us to has been a humbling experience. I do not take credit for any of our accomplishments, as BSUC could not be what it is today without the people that have invested time and energy into seeing the Kingdom of God as something beyond there sphere of influence. I have come to realize that unity cannot exist without humility, as God calls us to a higher standard.
I would like to formally thank our partners, staff and faithful supporters that have helped us to stay the course to create life changing experiences. In the midst of challenges and adversity, you all have taken a vow to Kingdom work, laboring hard to seeing the potential of this organization in creating history!
